The Department of Children and Education works on behalf of the preschool and primary school committees. The department is responsible for preschool activities, school-age childcare, primary school, and adapted primary school. Our most important mission is to give all children and students in Huddinge the opportunity to develop to their full potential in a safe educational environment. All our employees play an important role in this implementation.

Utsäljeskolan is a newly built municipal school in Huddinge, including primary school and adapted primary school, located in a quiet residential area on the border between Stuvsta and Segeltorp. The school is a three-parallel F-7 school that will gradually grow to include grades F-9. We currently have 600 students who thrive in our fantastic facilities. The school has a well-functioning student health team and special educators who work closely with teachers in daily operations. Our students have access to Chrome Books used in their schoolwork. We place great emphasis on having a balance between analog and digital working methods to promote students' development and creativity.

Being a teacher and professional educator in Huddinge municipality means that you have high expectations and a belief that all students can succeed based on their circumstances. You are well aware of your own impact on students' learning and are eager to meet students where they are. As a person, you need to be structured, responsible, and have a good ability to work both independently and in teams.

We are looking for someone who wants to work at the secondary level as a social pedagogue to support students in both their social well-being and academic development, together with the mentors. You do this by being present where the students are during breaks and lessons, contributing to a safe and pleasant school environment. You will be present in the school's corridors and common areas, providing social and emotional support to students. In addition to building relationships with students, you will also create good relationships with guardians in situations where there may be social challenges.

As our guiding principle is “together,” it is important that you are eager to work collegially with your colleagues and see collaboration as a given. You will be part of the school's student health team and safety team.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who:

• Are a trained social pedagogue
• Have experience working with teenagers, preferably in a school environment.
• Have good communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written.
• Are familiar with working with IT and digital tools.

Great importance is placed on personal qualities and suitability. We are looking for someone who is a clear leader and confident in their role, a stable adult role model. Furthermore, you have the ability to work in a low-arousal manner and create safety; you are also structured and can plan your work. You follow up on your work to best meet the needs of the students. You also find it easy to collaborate and follow common agreements and the school's routines. It is also important that you can work independently but are also a seasoned team player who enjoys and sees the importance of collaboration.
